Claps & Snaps

“I’m a master of deflection, and Esther held me to account on all my agreements. She continued to see right through me and hold me to account for my actions and promises. It was Esther’s listening and self-awareness that kept me on task, and allowed her to see me through to success.”

What does CPCC and ACC mean?

CPCC stands for Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and ACC is Accredited Certified Coach.

What is Co-Active Coach?

Co-Active Coaching is based on the Co-Active Model and co-active coaches believe in the core principle that the client is naturally, creative, resourceful and whole; completely capable of finding their own answers to whatever challenges they face.

What is coaching?

Coaching starts as with a conversation about what matters to you. In partnership with you, this thought-provoking, creative process builds self-awareness, empowers choice, and leads to changes you desire to accomplish personal and professional goals. It unlocks your potential to maximize performance. Coach and client work together to identify coaching goals/objectives and opportunities then together formulate a measurable action plan.

How is coaching different from counseling or therapy?

Coaching is not counseling, therapy or consulting. Counseling and therapy focus on past experiences that may be the root cause for how a person lives. Consulting has an advisory scope, diagnoses the problem, provides and implements the solutions based on specialized expertise.

What are the benefits of coaching?

The benefits of Coaching is having someone solely dedicated to you and the attainment of your goals. They are non-judgmental, supportive, encouraging and motivating just when you need it. Your coach will keep you accountable and focused on where you want to be and moving forward in the right direction. They will enable you to get to where you want to be in life, much faster than you could on your own.

What is your coaching speciality?

I specialize in Personal Leadership Development, or leadership of self encouraging one’s ability to define a direction for her leadership and life to guide herself in that direction with clarity and consistency. As coach, I hold the belief that everyone is a leader and true leadership begins with self. I also specialize in Values-Based Living because our values illustrate what’s important to us, informs who we are and act as motivators for our decisions and actions. Compelling Story Coaching is a process for uncovering why you’re here, bringing your future closer to the present to live with purpose and fulfillment.

What happens during a coaching session?

You, the client will bring a topic, issue, challenge or celebration to be discussed. Together, we will set a ‘session goal’ to clearly set out what you want to achieve by the end of the day’s session. We then explore where you are at the moment with that particular goal; what you have tried; what has worked and any obstacles you have come across along the way. We then explore all the possible options in achieving that goal, using lots of techniques to really extract options that you have never thought of before. Lastly and most importantly we look at what actions you want to set for yourself from the list of options to achieve that session’s goal.

How long are coaching sessions?

Generally, sessions lengths vary from 30, 45 or 60 minutes, depending upon the coach, client and primary focus of the session. Our sessions will be approximately 50 to 55 minutes to allow for a 15 minute buffer between scheduled coaching calls.

What will I have to do?

It is your responsibility to create the coaching agenda based on personal meaningful goals and assume full responsibility for your decisions and actions. While engaged in a coaching relationship, utilize the coaching process to promote “possibility thinking” and fresh perspectives. In-between coaching sessions, take courageous, inspired action that aligns with your goals and aspirations. Take the tools, concepts, models and principles either provided by the coach or co-created and design effective forward action while envisioning personal and/or organizational success.

Where does coaching take place?

In the majority of cases the coaching session occur by video conference or phone, with the client calling the coach. For video conferencing, an invitation and link will be provided to you in advance. This has proven to be the most convenient and effective way for individuals to fit coaching into their busy lives. Either by phone or video conference, you will need a quiet room with no distractions where you can totally focus on the conversation.
